in the market as an integral supplier of supplies
for the bakery and pastry industry, participating
in the following 4 areas of businesses: Yeasts,
Bakery Ingredients, Shortenings and Exports. |

YEASTS
Collico has wide experience in the production
of yeasts for baking in the fresh, dry
or instantaneous varieties. Since 1922
it has a plant located in the city of
Valdivia - which was the first yeast
factory installed in Chile - and where
all said varieties are produced.
The association with AB Mauri has played
an important role in the continuous
improvement of these products. AB Mauri
has an outstanding leadership in the
yeasts market worldwide, being present
in more than 20 countries with around
30 plants manufacturing this type of
products.

Collico
also participates in the market of ingredients
for bakery with a complete line of enhancers,
products for the pastry industry and
premixtures. In this area the company
has achieved a dramatic growth in the
last years because the market has recognized
the constant introduction of new products
and improvement of their quality.
This line of products is completely
manufactured at the plant located in
the city of Valdivia . The company also
has a development laboratory in the
city of Santiago where the new products
originate.
Recently we have introduced a new line
of products imported from Brazil, chocolate
covers Harald, leader in his country
and with presence in different countries
from the region, counts with the best
products of the market. Covers in bars,
drops, in different flavors and presentations
that adjust perfectly to the necessities
of bakers, distributors and great consumers.

As
a result of its association with Burns
Philp - which owns, through Calsa company,
a shortenings plant with a monthly capacity
of 10,000 tons in Argentina - Collico
entered this market in 1996 by means
of the incorporation of two lines of
Argentinian products , of which we can
highlight the Premium line, the first
line of 100 % vegetable margarinas and
butters in Chile.
Calsa`s know-how made it possible for
Collico to manufacture shortenings in
Chile through Grasco , a company with
ample experience in the business. At
present Collico and Grasco are partners
in a company called Collgras. |

Participation
of Collico in the international market
is increasing, specially with the Instantaneous
Yeast. At present it exports 1,000 tons
of this product to countries such as
Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela,
Panama, Dominican Republic, Guadalupe,
Nigeria and Bangladesh.
Additionally, it exports some products
of the bakery ingredients line such
as instantaneous creams, enhancers and
premixtures. |
